How To Do Sudoku | Sudoku Solver Tips

New to Sudoku?

Work through these levels to find out how to ‘get’ the idea.  You don’t have to add or multiply anything – just place the given numbers into the boxes so that they are all used up and there are no double-ups. You’ll be a Sudoku solver in no time!

Suggestion: Draw up your own grid, use pencil and have an eraser handy!

For the first one, use the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 across and down every line.

Just to add some fun to it, make sure each square also has the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4.

Solution: Line 1:  3 1 4 2  Line 2:  2 4 1 3  Line 3: 1 3 2 4  Line 4: 4 2 3 1

 

Now try another one:

Move on to 9 Squares:

Same principle applies – every line across and down must contain the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

And every 9-box square must have the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
